Supervisors meet at Community Center
We want to remind you to plan to attend the meeting with the Mono County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, October 10 at 6:00 pm at the Community Center. The June Lake Coalition will be presenting their findings to the Board.
The Coalition voted 7 to 3 in favor of the Rodeo Grounds Development with a density of 900 and a height limit of 60 ft. We need residents of June Lake to come to the meeting with letters of support for this development (Option # 5). After six months of looking at all kinds of alternatives we believe that this option is the only one which will help the Community provide the hot/transient bed base June Mountain needs in order to keep the mountain open in the years to come.
This option does not require any changes to the existing June Lake Area Plan. This increased bed base is the only way we can develop a viable year-round economy. We believe this development can be designed to fit in with our natural resources and not negatively impact our unique community character. Contrary to some, the economic decline in this community is real and ongoing – now is the time to take a positive step forward and control our own destiny.
